I've been recommended to use a soap alternative which is called QV. Not sure if you have that in the states. Would you consider using a soap alternative? What about something like some vegetable oil, I was told by my sister that this is good for removing eye makeup and that turned out to be the case. It would remove oily residues.
As for me I have oily hair and I suffer from a mild hyperhydrosis (excessive sweating -- apparently my sister had it very badly until she had an operation which she's happy with, in my case it's annoying but not a huge issue, especially as I live in a pretty cool climate). So I wouldn't be down with ditching soap, in fact I use it several times a day. If I have a busy day with appointments right through, and a date etc, then I'll get through a number of shirts, each time I strip down in the bathroom and wash my upper body with soap. I'm also pretty good at doing this in planes, in airports, in stations, in department stores, etc, was a useful skill for homeless pickup. I can't imagine not using soap.
