Gentleman,
2 years ago I had my braces put on, not for the first time in my life, and then last year they were taken off and I had clear retainers in (as I had moved away from home and couldn't keep treatment going), which resulted in me having what looked like perfect teeth. It gave me a lot of confidence and I was extremely happy to be smiling confidently. And I found this a big boost as I started applying more of GC's stuff.
But I've now got back and had my braces put back on.
Now, this isn't a moaning post to say now I can't do any approaching or girls will hate me because of them. Instead it is merely to see other people's experience and verdict on the role they play.
I feel very conscious now whenever I smile or laugh as it's a lot more unattractive than when I had the retainers and they definitely aren't photogenic, either. Also, looking at posts like 'sexy slow smile' etc now, I can't really do that. I've become quite good at the closed-lipped half smile, but, of course, some form of slow smile when you greet someone still shows signs of happiness in other parts of your face etc.
I also read about Darius' Social Insecurities post: https://www.girlschase.com/content/how-d ... securities. However, he said:
See I'm the opposite and was dreading them going back in.
See, for me, as I'd had them on and off for so long (treatment has been complicated), I was SO happy when they came off.
So, in all, have people had more or less luck? I've had conversations with people now they're on and they'd say they didn't even realise I had them in. We'd have a 2 hour conversation and go "Oh, you've had your braces put back on!"
Also, in terms of kissing or going down on girls, has any ever had some interesting feedback? Should I just embrace them more?
Cheers,
- JP

I did feel major emotional relief and I did feel more attractive with metal in my mouth, even though it had nothing to do with how cool braces actually look (they don’t look cool).
See I'm the opposite and was dreading them going back in.
Still, even after I had my braces removed and ended up with a solid smile, the world didn’t instantly become a happier place
See, for me, as I'd had them on and off for so long (treatment has been complicated), I was SO happy when they came off.
