texting tips are useful, and
this article as well.
Basically the phone is just for logistics and moving toward the date.
I'll throw in an example of a texting sequence of mine from a little while back that might help, since it can be hard to know how to close the date from the get go without being uncalibrated:
Me: Hey HB, save my number
HB: Hey Will. Nice to see you
Me: Hey yeah was fun talking .. we should hang out sometime when the bus won't interrupt haha
Her: Yeah cool. I was nervous when the bus stopped
Me: Haha you didn't want the conversation with the handsome stranger to finish

when are you free this week
Her: Well I have a plan this weekend with my friend. And on weekday, I get off late as you saw. Do you work nearby at that street?
Me: I have an office in the city where I often work evenings, its an eclectic writers lifestyle

.. what do you say we grab a coffee tea sometime when you get off work
Her: Well if you'd like to, you gotta be patient. I'm really not good at speaking english.
Me: Haha you'll learn quick with me .. are u free tonight? Getting a haircut rn
Her: Sorry I got off now, and I couldn't check my phone while working

Her: How bout tomorrow
Me: Tomorrow sounds good, what time do u get off work
Her: Sorry but usually I gett off late on Friday. So how about Saturday lunch?
Me: sat works better for me too, I'm in the city around 11 so let's meet around midday, I know a good place
Her: Yeah beautiful. See you around
Me (on the day): Hey HB, meet me at the bottom of the mall, 12pm
Her: Cool see you then
You can see that it was almost entirely about setting up the date, and needed a bunch of replanning, but never needy or pushy and always assuming that she wanted to see me. It's not perfect from my end but that's what solid texting should look like imo.
To your point about value, if you have good text game (by which I mean it has worked successfully for you on many occasions) then ghosting is usually a question of lack of attraction during the approach which can be for a huge number of reasons, and can only really be diagnosed with a field report.
