This will mark my 1st field report as I need to keep close tabs on this very new and unique experience in my dating journey. Quick recap, on my thread Mini Bachelor Pad Tips I expressed my concern with my bachelor pad being extremely small and how it has lead to some insecurities rising. And I got a lot of very helpful responses which definitely improved my confidence to go out there and start dating more aggressively.
So on my apartment complex, one of the tenants moved out about a month ago and during that time, I've been doing some repairs around the property (approved by my landlord) which of course would subtract from my rent payments since this enhances things for everyone on the premises.

I got approval for vacation for 2 days and I was at home today doing some repairs. It was about 5:30PM when I took a seat on the back porch to rest and I heard a voice "PeacockMan hello, PeacockMannnnnn!!!!"
A lady had called out and then she appeared from the vacant side of the apartment complex with a boy around 10 years old behind her. First off this woman is pretty, but I would not consider her gorgeous. Anyhow she approached me and introduced herself and said that my landlord had told her I would be on the property to show her around as she was moving in soon (I was shocked as my landlord did not tell me this... but I've shown the property to others before who had an interest so whatever).
I show her the apartment she would be getting, all the rooms, and answered all questions she had and then we made our way to the front of the building where she proceeded to tell me how my landlord had told her so many wonderful things about me:
- How I manage the property keeping it clean and cutting the lawns
- How honest and intelligent I was
- How nice and helpful I am
Let's call her Charise!
For about the 1st 3 minutes of the conversation and tour of the property I was skeptical why she had such apparent high interest. But as she explained the things my landlord said above, I relaxed a bit and from there we keep the conversation light and flirty and shared a few jokes. She even started making plans of what we woul be doing together:
- Asking me "what time do you come from work? I hope you come home early so we can play a lot of games together (smiling)
- Oh the ice cream truck passes on Sundays! Nice we can buy ice cream and sit on the roof top together
dAs she was making her way to her car and sat in, I held the door for her and closed it as she then drove off with her son.
I call my landlord immediately after she left and in summary he told me
"PeacockMan I told the new young lady a lot of nice things about you. She is a very beautiful young lady probably in her late 20's, she has a very good job, and is very educated. I'm giving you her to be your girlfriend. Take very good care of her. She is moving in tomorrow so help her out and get close to her. You'll be the new step father for her son."
Bear in mind, my landlord has a LOT of respect for me. He trust my word on a lot of things and gives me priviledges that the other tenants do not have and recently while we were out on the road running some errands I casually chit-chatted that all I wanted for this Christmas was some good food and a nice girl. So this is one of his ways to show he means me well and wants to see me happy as both a tenant and friend.

While I've been doing some repairs on my own bedroom area, I've been occupying one of the bedrooms that Charise would move into (at nights only). My 2nd day of vacation I remove all my stuff from the new space for Charise and I proceed to mop the entire vacant area so that when she shows up it would be nice and clean (not something my landlord asked me to do nor am I obligated to do. I just did this because I feel it's the best way to welcome someone to a new space. And prior to this the vacant rooms (except the one I stayed in a few nights) had dirty floors and was in no way a warm welcome for someone moving in).
Charise showed up late that morning and she was quite surprised the floors were clean and we had a conversation and I told her I cleaned them and she thanked me and said "see this is why I love you so much!" (smiling).
I ask if there is anything she would like me to help her with and she says "not right now". So I move on with my day and the repairs on the property.

I saw Charise moving in some stuff and she told me she did not have a good toilet seat and I told her I would speak with the landlord for a resolution. I called my landlord shortly thereafter and arranged for this to be resolved and then advised Charise to hold on till tomorrow or Monday the latest. Today I returned to work so did not speak with Charise for the rest of the day.

There was a technician working on her apartment in the morning: installing her flat screen TV, Air Conditioning and other stuff. I briefly followed up with her regarding the toilet seat and then we got into a little banter:
PeacockMan: I woke up early this morning and cooked breakfast. The only thing missing from my plate is food from the market
Charise: Oh you go to the market? I'm going to have to give you my car to go to the market then and buy me food as well (smile)
PeacockMan: Yeah (In the back of my head I'm thinking WTF)
Charise: Can you drive PeacockMan?
PeacockMan: Yes (smile) I learnt to drive standard a few years ago
(more banter and I don't remember everything but she takes me to the bedroom area and asks me if I can install a mirror on the wall. So I go for my tools measuring tape and level and mark the wall and told her I'd get my drill then return tomorrow)
Charise: I need to take your phone number! (low voice tone)
PeacockMan: (for some reason I heard her but I was focused on something else in the house)
... I left her apartment room and then came back a few minutes later and made up an excuse to ask her instead for her number. "Hey Charise I am going on the road and it may take longer than expected. In case I need to reach out to you, what's your phone number?"
Boom! She gives me the number and immediately saves my number in her phone all excited. Then I bounce out and for the rest of the day went back to my personal projects.

Ok what happened today is what sparked me to write this report. But I'll continue it tomorrow with an edit to this same post.
