Just wanted to drop a little dose of reality on some people.

For one, I’ve seen guys say stuff like “I want to get girls as hot as those Instagram models.”

Secondly, men also compare themselves to male social media influencers and have a warped perspective of what a top 20% man looks like in terms of pure looks.

Models and photographers Will play around with focal lengths to change their face too. Here is an example of bad focal lengths and its effects…

What about that “chad” male model that redpill dude obsess with over?

Another one…

I think social media shouldn’t be a “measuring stick” that indicates who’s good looking and who isn’t. Because as you can see, practically every influencer uses filters, photoshop, or at least makeup.

But to be fair, people from these examples have BAD looks... You can go out and meet plenty of good looking people in just a few minutes… (depending on the area of course)

So yeah, lots of influencers are full of bs, but real good looking people exist as well… looks shouldn’t be overlooked -no pun intended-

EDIT: plus, if you have some experience, you can easily learn to differentiate real, natural beauty, and “artificial”/edited photos.

Holy fucking God!! I can’t even.

I constantly have to remind me that “everybody got angles” because I keep on finding small things I don’t like in my girls (who are very beautiful).
Like subconsciously I compare them with Instagram models.

I need a detox…. pretty sure I am not the only one.

yeah i edit some of my photos as well (not like those examples, but for example i use a matte brush because flash makes you look sweaty, etc)

if everyone edits their photos, you’ve gotta play by the rules.. that doesn’t mean transforming into a different person, i’m not a catfish but it’s ok to edit your photos a little bit, women do it all the time.

if you don’t go full photoshopped it’s fine, their subconscious mind thinks you’re that perfect instagram guy haha, i mean, it’s easier to stare at a photo than to establish eye contact, so if they believe you look reaally good thanks to your photos, you can get away with a few imperfections in real life

but again, those examples are too much..

Social media is designed to destroy people's self esteem (both men and women)... or it might as well be. There are all kinds of studies about how it has that effect, makes people more depressed, etc...

One thing I've noticed also in reading the old archives of pickup forums from 10 - 15 years ago is that guys' rating scale has shifted by one point. A girl that we used to rate an 8 back then would now get rated a 7... and so forth.

People's perception have been completely warped by this crap. Personally I don't even ever use it anymore (used to be totally addicted... now I never touch it).

The 'like' system hijacks the brains dopamine reward system, where you release dopamine for every like you get and you associate how many likes you get with how highly/lowly you regard yourself.

I don't miss it all but it hurts your social frame, in my experience.

I have found that telling women I have no social media that it works in my favor.

If a weird creepy dude approaches her and tells her he has no social media, that’s just another red flag.

A charming stranger approaches her and she finds out he has no social media… well now she’s very curious and intrigued.

I do competition shooting and travel a lot for business, that combined with me having no social media has led some women to actually believe I’m some sort of spy. I deny it but I admit it does wonders for their attraction levels lol.

Point is, it’s not a bad thing to be the charming and MYSTERIOUS stranger.

@Warped Mindless I'm in the same boat. I've never had anything less than a positive response to not having social media. If anything they see it as me being higher value and They start qualifying how they "don't really use it" and "don't ever post on it"

however, having an ON POINT social media is probably better than having no social media. But no social media is likely better than anything less than that, which I would say 95% of social media accounts I've seen aren't ideal.

not having a social media affects your in person SNL game exactly 0. If your game is good you will eat extremely well with good SNL game. Which is likely easier to develop than a top tier social media coupled with mid level game (because you'll still need atleast that)

How many followers would you say a guy has to have, to have on point social media?

It astounded me that girls would go through a guys post and look at how many likes they have, like wow

Followers would be the least important part. I would say over 2,000 in a tier 2 or 3 city and over 10,000 in a tier 1 city is fine. I've heard years ago from user digital nomad at rooshvforum that once he hit over 40,000 he started getting good reactions based on follower count. This was circa 2016 so I imagine that has changed with the widespread use of buying followers.

he also said once he hit that mark he needed to make sure his likes, comments and picture quality was on point or he would get a lot of questions.

more important than follower count is quality pictures followed by comments from high value accounts (which can't be faked)

quality pictures are;

-"quality" in the typical sense, good camera/lighting

-inducing FOMO
1) you know the people she wants to know or be friends with. Whether that's famous people or simply cool attractive people.
2) you're doing the things she's always wanted to do. This needs to be curated to your target audience. Could be hiking could be private jets
3) you're at the places she's always wanted to go. Could be typical chick crack locations like Ibiza, Bahamas, etc.

-showing a slice of your personality, what it would be like to be with you. For a rocker it might be back stage pictures, crazy parties, live action shots of you playing (preferably in front of large crowds)

What about a hobby one? Like I'm a chef and I know another chef, he's not really famous but he's got an IG with about 30k followers. He just posts recipes, stuff he cooks, ingredients, prices and stuff like that. The thing is, it took him about his whole career to get 30k followers, so about 7 years I think. Would that be a good Instagram?

Great for career. But won't get girls.

But I won't be surprised if females DM you if there's a photo of you. There are girls who make thirst trap TikTok videos because of a chef video.

I'm like it's just a half naked muscular guy making bread!
