Forum News New Theme Is Live; "Texting & Online Messaging" Board Added

Hi fellas, quick announcement:

As you no doubt have noticed, we've retired the old (dated-looking) forum theme and finally rolled out the new one.

I've been using this theme myself for about a year now and at this point I think we've gotten out most or all the bugs.

If you find anything buggy, please let me know in this thread or another and we'll get that fixed.

Also, at the request of various users, we've at long last added a board for texting and online messages:

Texting & Online Messages

Discuss strategies for texting girls and sending messages online, or share text chats to get feedback.

You'll be able to paste snippets of your text and online message conversations here and ask for feedback from other members, as well as share tips and guides.

At some point, we might try to go through the General Board and move any text-focused posts there into the Texting Board just to keep things better organized.

Also, we had a user requesting that we enable the Xenforo Default Style as well for better privacy when viewing the forum in public places. That option is available now via the Styles selector at the bottom of the page.

Note that the forum icons still appear on Xenforo Default, but they're smaller and the forum name just shows up as "XenForo", not "Skilled Seducer".

So if you need more privacy, that might be the way to go.

The new forum look has caught me by surprise! I like the new look but also had no issues with the old look, but to each their own. One feedback is the Header / Title of this and all the posts look extremely large. I am fortunate to have perfect eye sight and the font size makes me feel like I've borrowed the glasses of a friend and everything has zoomed up much closer to my eyes than I would like.

Is there a setting to adjust that a bit?

I've noticed highlighting (click + drag over text) doesn't work for me - the selection is made but nothing happens visually. Maybe the highlight color is white?

The dark theme is a bit buggy on Android. Theres a gap between the vertical margins in the header, and the chat interface splays over the main interface when opened (it needs a background fill)

Yes it is a very pale grey indeed. I was struggling to notice it as well.

Hm, my eyesights always been perfect, so either I'm getting old or my laptop screen doesn't show the difference at all.

When you are writing a response in the editor, this colour is indeed the same as the colour of the frame around the quote you are responding to. But if you go above the very text you are writing, it is visible as a bit more greyish, compared to the totally white background.

There does seem to be a very faint background behind the quote, but what I'm saying is that when you click and drag to select a specific amount of text (doesn't matter whether it's within your own text or the text you're replying to), there is no visual difference in the part that you selected vs the rest of the text before and after.

I screenshotted the page after having selected some text and put it into gimp to sample the pixels lol and there's no difference.

Just makes it a bit harder to snip the text to reply to a specific thing.

Yes that's what I'm saying as well.

For me when I click and drag on your message in order to reply to a specific part, this part is highlighted as blue and a reply option appears.

When I click and drag on your quote inside my message as I am responding, nothing is visible indeed.

When I click and drag on a part of my message as I am writing it, then this part is highlighted with a light grey colour. The same exact colour of the background of the quote.

At least that's how it seems to be working for me.

Xenforo doesn't come with a dark mode default. At present we've only created a custom dark mode for the new theme, but not for the Xenforo default theme.


All right, so far the new theme bug report is:

1. Thread title font size too large
2. Highlighting in "write/edit post mode" on the light theme too hard to distinguish
3. Vertical margins gap in header in dark mode
4. Chat interface missing background fill in dark mode

We'll get those patched up.

Any other bugs you fellas find, keep letting me know!

My only complaint:

The few times I visit GC on a smartphone I miss being able to switch between pages of a thread on the top of the page...one always needs to scroll all the way down to advance through the pages.

Only place I see this is the Xenforo default theme.

In that case, it is because the custom module we have for the display of rank badges is not coded for the out-of-the-box theme. Only for our custom theme. Instead you are seeing the alt text for the image, since the image does not load.

(let me know if you are using one of the Skilled Seducer themes though. I've checked both and do not see that on these though)
