More of a funny story than an actual approach. Years and years ago when I smoked cigs, I was outside a bar across the street from a popular music venue. I had lost my lighter. Outside the music venue there were girls galore, so I went across the street and asked the prettiest one if she had a lighter. A guy next to her sternly and loudly said to me “I don’t think she has a lighter, bro.” Turns out it was the lead singer of a very famous rock band, and the girls were all in line to get autographs from him… oops 
Around the corner I found a guy smoking outside a tour bus. Turns out it was their tour manager, who let me check out their tour bus and was really cool. He also gave me his lighter, lol. I’ll never forget getting cockblocked in such epic fashion.
