Maybe we can use rules similar to the Stack Exchange networkStack Exchange network
I think this is perfect, should lead to more thoughtful posts from new members. I’m not sure of the tech involved but it may be helpful to add some kind of popup, something like:NEW CONTENT LIMITATIONS
Made one further change. I've installed an add-on that is supposed to limit how much content users can create.
Assuming it is working correctly(?), the only affected users should be Rookies and Space Monkeys. I've set the restrictions as follows:
- Able to create two (2) new threads per day
- Able to make eight (8) posts/replies per day
- Able to initiate a DM conversation with two (2) users per day (Space Monkeys only; Rookies cannot initiate new DMs)
- Able to write up to four (4) messages in DM conversations per day
Once a user is upgraded to Tool-Bearing Hominid or above, all these restrictions are lifted.
If you guys think we're restricting new members too much here, let me know what you think the limits should be. Though I think 2 threads per day and 8 posts per day is probably enough, and I also don't want newbs spamming DMs to people either.
Also, if this add-on turns out to be glitchy in any way / the wrong people are being affected / etc., let me know that too.

yeah I think a letter of intent could be helpful "this place is for discussing technical pick up skills. It is intended for guys who are actively in field practicing, or have a good deal of experience in field and share knowledge"I think this is perfect, should lead to more thoughtful posts from new members. I’m not sure of the tech involved but it may be helpful to add some kind of popup, something like:
“Hey! New Member, Welcome to the Skilled Seducer forum, these are the guidelines and dynamics when it comes to posting etc etc.”
With brief reasonings behind why there is a limit, and how to make posts that lead to having the limits lifted.
Being a new member on a forum like this can be intimidating if they’re coming in with the right intent. So a gentle but firm nudge in the right direction maybe won’t make us come across more intimidating than it already is at face value.
The guys with bad intent or lack of wherewithal to understand why these rules are in place will prob still burn up their posts on the things everyone has already been complaining about.
Good idea. And to minimize confusion, this popup should also appear when they attempt to make a post that they aren't allowed to.“Hey! New Member, Welcome to the Skilled Seducer forum, these are the guidelines and dynamics when it comes to posting etc etc.”
Welcome PM said:Welcome aboard!
You’ve joined Skilled Seducer, the hub of the modern seduction community.
Here you’ll have access to cutting edge seduction strategies, a place to share reports, get feedback, and ask questions, and be around some of the most talented active seducers in the world.
Due to this forum’s prominence, we receive a constant stream of new members, many of them new to seduction. To avoid the same questions being posed repeatedly, we request that before you ask anything you ‘DAFS’ (“Do A F***ing Search’!) to see if your topic’s been addressed in the past. We also place some restrictions on new members:
As a new member, you’ll be able to participate in discussions on almost every board on the forum (save for Advanced). However, you will be limited to starting threads only on the following boards:
Beginners — ask beginner questions here or advise other members who are new
Field Reports — share reports of your outings in-the-field; get feedback & advice
Journals — maintain a journal of your progress in seduction
Wingman Finder — if no thread for your city exists, start a new one to find wings
Marketplace — requests for paid services or offers of your own (note: must be approved by mods)
Community — ask questions, give feedback, or voice issues with the forum and community
As a Rookie (brand new member), you’ll also be restricted from sending Private Messages. Once you reach the rank of Space Monkey, you’ll be able to PM members who have their messages open.
New members also have several post limitations:
• Start up to two (2) new threads per day
• Author up to eight (8) posts/replies per day
• Initiate a private message (PM) conversation with up to two (2) new users per day (Space Monkey rank)
• Send up to four (4) PM messages per day (Space Monkey rank)
These limitations are in place to help new members get acquainted with the forum culture and philosophy without bombarding the forum with content (we know; you’re very excited. We’re excited to have you here too! But we need to get you familiarized with this place before we let you run totally wild).
Before posting in any board, please read the stickied “READ BEFORE POSTING” rules for that board. Each board has its own unique rules, in addition to the general forum rules.

How Do I Know Members on the Forum Aren't Making Everything Up?
This is a question we see from time-to-time from new members. Sometimes it is asked earnestly. Sometimes it comes out as cognitive dissonance, where a new member argues members who have greater seniority than he has are lying, exaggerating, or charlatans. PARTING NOTE:
The focus of this forum is on active skill-building and self-development.
It’s expected if you are posting here that you are in the field, or have extensive in-field experience.
Our culture is very anti-“keyboard jockey” — that is, people offering opinions and hypothetical takes on things they have not actually done, or have not been able to repeat.
Everyone has an opinion, and everyone is welcome to theirs — but here, we discuss battle-tested tactics and strategies proven in the field to work, that way we can all get better together (and not be stuck talking theory, like almost everywhere else on the web is).
You won’t find another community online like Skilled Seducer. We go out of our way to keep it this way, too.
Have fun, get acquainted with the community, get in-field, and let’s get you seducing some beautiful girls!

E.g. newbie tries to make a post in General, when they hit Submit they get an error that says "Oops! You're not allowed to do that right now. For more information, please take a look at this (link to ranking posting rules)".
Then instead of complaining in Chat they'll be like oh okay I can only post in Beginners right now.
